The Face Of My Enemy
by jacon schober

I have seen the face of my enemy,
And it is my own.
It has been thrown back at me
By a mirror of race, place and birth:
A cruel reflection spawned by
Baseless continuing hate.
I saw his face and realised,
It is not flesh we face,
But fear, and the powers
That bring it.
I look this fear in the eye, and see:
My Opposite.
My Equal.
My Enemy.
