THE NOTHINGNESS
- by Carol-Ann Bedser Trollip

Trust the Nothingmness,
For Nothing is as it seems:

The clown with the painted face
Is filled with angered dreams,
The gentle wind that caresses
Becomes a tornado of emotion.
The doctor who tries to find the cure
Is boiling demonic potions,
The heart which seems so white
Contains so much fear and dread.
Your first breath of life
Is one closer to death.
The Face left in the mirror
So different to the one you see,
The innocent are behind bars
While the criminals run free.
The water you cleanse yourself with
Will kill you in the end.

With people so pretentious
Nothing is your friend.
