Jacob Schober | POET SEARCH FINALIST
If you thought poetry only has love affairs with Bohemian dressing black people, think again. This time it has found residence in the form of a young white man who goes by the name of Jacob Schober aka Sen.
Defining this talented young writer; he is a poet, novelist, writer of short stories and has interests in movies, gaming, ninjitsu, rollerblading and listens to whatever music sounds good to his ears. He listens to rock groups such as Linkin’ Park, Evanescence and Prime Circle.
Nolusindiso Noqayi unearths more of this poet.
"goodness and grace are all that is given to the grateful by God"

He was born in 1987, in Carlifonia,USA, to a religious household consisting of a preacher father and a teaching mom. He has spent most of his life growing up in South Africa. He currently resides in Baysville, East London and is studying at Fort Hare University.
He has been writing poetry since he was 13 and like most poets, has matured with time. To him, poetry is “STRUCTURED MOTIONS”. In such a short space of time, he has written various kinds of poetry, has a book and short fantasy stories that he wants to get published.
He has also created a poetry compilation called “LITERATIONS & ESSENCES OF THE ALMIGHTY”, which was inspired by God. For the man he draws inspiration from which he wrote, “the song sung softly by Seraphim to civilisation is simple, He is the prince of peace.”
It is said that a creative human being or even a creature does not draw inspiration from a single source, the field is wide. So, this has led him to be inspired by poet, novelist and play-write, William Shakespeare because of the Archaic language he uses in his writings and also by J.R. Tolkien, as the fantasy writer who wrote the trilogy Lord Of The Rings.
There are endless subject matters that poets write about, like politics, life, emotions, fantasies, drama, etc... and poetry lovers have been exposed to these for years. Now, Jacob has fused a pinch of Politics, Christianity, and Science Fiction together and has invented a fresh, yet mature style. This is so, as he draws inspiration from everything around him. When he writes, he places himself in the position of what has inspired him.
He has performed as a poet at the Grahamstown Arts Festival, has won this editions POET SEARCH competition and his poem, entitled MY LOVE won the Daily Dispatch Valentine’s Day Competition. Explaining the poem that made him win the POET SEARCH, “Words Of Truth”, he says; “People often think that the pain they go through is caused by God and forget that good things also do happen to people and those are done by God”.
CREATIVITY, again I say, has no boundaries.
