A SCENERY INSTILLED ON OUR MIND
- by Nolusindiso Noqayi

...A beautiful falling landscape draped
with scattered trees and town
houses catches my eye.
Sitting on a spot,listening to nature’s
call.
Unseen
birds flap their wings swiftly
and sing beautiful harmonies to each other
as they mingle within the trees.
A swift wind brushes gently
against the tree branches creating a language only nature knows.
The talk, telling old tales of years gone by.
Small insects scrambled all over
the green-brown grass, mind their own business and carry on
as if im not there at all.
The tips of the grass have now churned into a slight brown
caused by the cold aproaching winter.
Winter it is,
but the sun's still up.
There in the sky,
scorching my caramel coloured skin
slowly turning it darker.
A cold breeze sends chills down my spine
as the clouds jealously
cover the sun,
creating a shadow
as i slowly devour
the last glimpse
of
mother nature
during daytime.
