Vocalist_On_The_Rise: Andee-Sesmani

She’s famous for being the pint size beauty with an alarmingly huge singing voice. This gifted artist has shared the stage and collaborated with a rich selection of Eastern Cape musicians and poets such as Nqko, Simbone and AKA Hasty, to mention but a few.

This is Andee. I’m an artist, a mother, a girlfriend, a sister, a daughter, an idealist, a perfectionist (which can be very frustrating at times) and a sensitive soul. My father's strict rearing is largely responsible for what and who I am today.

I was born in Worcester, Western Cape where my mother was raised. I was an introvert and extremely shy growing up. I often wished I wasn't.

Where Andee’s love for music comes from? Not very different from other artists really, I believe for most of us it comes from home, our parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, whoever raised us and had a hand in what we grow up to be and love. My parents are great music lovers, so I also became one. My dad played the guitar when he was younger. When I discovered I could sing as well, there was no stopping me!
